I've been a big Manhunter fan since I was a kid. As an adult I've become good friends with Walter Simonson, who has got to be the nicest guy in comics. Well, one day a few years ago I was having lunch with Walter in San Diego shortly before the Con began and he mentions he is going to send me a surprise when he gets back home--So, anyone disagee about Walter being the nicest guy in comics?

If Mr. Simonson is going to continue to HOARD his art, FORCING me to have to come here to YOUR gallery to continually get my Manhunter/Batman fix � i suppose i can live with it � not much i can do about it, really. Um, how exactly do you become friends with Mr. Simonson again?

Was flipping through the last reprinted edition of MANHUNTER from 1999...and saw this piece published in it. It's sort of a "cover" to the new story Walt Simonson did for that edition. Very cool!

No need convincing me how nice Walt Simonson is in person; he is truly a generous and just plain pleasant man. But this MANHUNTER piece is outstanding! Walt is getting better and better all the time.

Please invite me to your next lunch with Walter, as I clearly need new friends. This piece is particularly incredible because, I believe, and I don't think I am alone in this, that outside of Thor (and not discounting any of the spectacular work that Walter has done on Batman, X-Factor, X-Men/Teen Titans, etc.) I think that Manhunter is his best work. Certainly a fantastic character who I thought would have exploded into mega-popularity after the Goodwin and Simonson epic. Congratulations on a wonderful acquisition!
